Jaafar Fakih

Jaafar Fakih has extensive experience working in human rights in the Middle East and North Africa region. Shortly following his graduation from Lake Forest College where he earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and human rights studies, Jaafar relocated to Beirut and worked on documenting human rights violations in Gulf countries and supporting the engagement of civil society organizations in the region with the UN Special Procedures. Jaafar also engaged with civil society efforts to advocate for the reform of Lebanon’s labor code. Currently, Jaafar is working on the issue of missing persons in Syria. He recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a master's degree in international human rights law.
