On 04 Sep 2017, a foreign domestic worker in the town of Hrebta in Baalbek attempted to murder child by strangling him and trying to insert a floor wiper stick into his throat. The child was transported in a critical condition to Dar al-Hekmeh hospital in Baalbek, where he underwent the necessary first aid and was admitted to the intensive care unit. The domestic worker managed to escape.
