The Fatah Movement and the Palestinian National Security Forces in southern Lebanon handed over a wanted man Saturday to the Lebanese Army, a security source told The Daily Star.

The man, identified as Mohammad Ghassan Awad, and nicknamed Abu Dakkous, turned himself in to Fatah  and the Palestinian security forces in Tyre, who then handed him over to the Army Intelligence. The reasons Awad had been wanted by the authorities was not disclosed.

Many wanted people have fled to Palestinian refugee camps, including the Ain al-Hilweh camp in Sidon and Rashidieh camp in Tyre, where they have later handed themselves over to authorities in exchange for favorable settlements of the charges against them. Lebanese authorities do not enter any of the 12 Palestinian refugee camps scattered across Lebanese territory, instead cooperating with joint Palestinian security forces that police the camps.
