First forced displacement occurs in Haret el-Ghawarneh/Antelias
After three days of shelling, the Kataeb went into the Muslim-populated neighborhood of Haret al-Ghawarneh-Antelias in Beirut’s northern suburbs and forced its residents to leave. About 150 civilians were expulsed, and ISF trucks transported them to Burj al-Barajneh and other areas in West Beirut. Thirteen bodies were found, two of them charred. This was the first forced displacement of population to occur since war began.
