BEIRUT: Fierce clashes erupted between a Free Syrian Army faction and an extremist militant group on the northeastern outskirts of Lebanon, Hezbollah-linked media reported.
The clashes centered around the Lebanese border village of Khirbet Daoud, on the outskirts of the town of Arsal in the Baalbeck-Hermel Governorate, the Hezbollah-affiliated War Media Center said via Twitter. They were between fighters from Saraya Ahl al-Sham, an FSA faction that is mainly active around the Qalamoun region, and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham – previously the Al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front – the WMC reported.
