The Internal Security Forces arrested two suspected members of an auto theft gang, a statement from the agency reported Wednesday. The suspects, identified as Syrian nationals S.Q., born in 1972, and Aa.A., born in 1990, were arrested after stealing several cars in Mount Lebanon. S.Q. was arrested in Sin al-Fil last Thursday and was found in possession of auto theft tools.
Aa.A. was arrested Sunday in Burj Hammoud with fake identification documents. He allegedly admitted to stealing 18 cars in Bsous, Hazmieh, Jdeideh, Fanar, Ain Saade, Jbeil and Amchit. He said he received $400 for each stolen car. He also admitted to using cocaine and had been previously detained for drug dealing, the ISF said.
