Lebanese Army Intelligence has arrested a suspected supporter of notorious Salafist preacher Ahmad al-Assir, who led clashes with the Army in 2013.
The Army raided the home of the suspect, identified as Mostapha J., in the Villat area of Sidon “in the past couple of days,” the source said, and seized arms found hidden there.
The arrest comes after tightened security measures were enforced by the Army in the area.
