The Internal Security Forces arrested of a sextortionist on October 14th in the northern city of Tripoli.
The suspect, identified as Lebanese Aa.Sh., born in 1992, was arrested by a patrol of the Office of Combatting Cyber Crime and Protection of Intellectual Property, reportedly confessing that he got to know many girls, including minors, by creating a fictitious account on Instagram under the name “Waelal.ahmad.”
The suspect would then imbue victims with love and affection, pretending he would marry them in the future. He would then obtain compromising pictures of the victims in order to blackmail them financially, threatening to publish the images on social networking sites.
The suspect was identified by some of the victims.
